Brown Rice

Cooking tips…..

  • Measure 60g per person ( 1 mug = 2 servings approx)

  • Rinse well in a sieve under cold water

  • Cook in boiling water ( 5 parts water  - 1 part rice )

  • Cook for 25 minutes, drain and return to pan, cover with a lid and allow to stand for 3 minutes, then fluff up with a fork. 

  • We used Tilda brown rice 

Tasty tips

  • Fold through toasted flaked almonds or lightly toasted sesame seeds and a drizzle (1-2 tsp) of extra virgin olive oil.

  • toss with toasted spices (such as cumin, lightly toasted and lightly crushed) and a drizzle (1-2 tsp) of extra virgin olive oil.

  • add a squeeze of lemon instead of salt

  • fold in finely chopped coriander 

  • a little grated ginger or garlic 

  • try some toasted nigella seeds
