Ajitha is the daughter of a migrant worker who arrived in the UK in 1976. Growing up, her family enjoyed a blend of English, Oriental, and Indian cuisine, with school dinners as their initial exposure to English food. They rarely had non-Asian individuals visit their homes to share meals.

Ajita has inherited her mother's culinary skills and developed a passion for cooking. She enjoys experimenting with different foods and creating dishes without strictly following recipes. Fortunately, her family is open to trying her cooking creations.

Coming from Kerala, where coconuts and a wide variety of dishes are abundant, Ajitha emphasises the importance of food in her family. She takes pleasure in introducing her new culinary creations to others, as she enjoys the process of creating food. Additionally, she wants people to be aware of simpler cooking options that are available
