I am currently pursuing a master's degree in Human Rights. As somebody who is consistently curious, the premise of this project is alluring, captivating and wildly cathartic. I want to learn more about my Asian heritage through investigating oral histories, collecting lovely pasts found in cuisine and storytelling, and putting them on paper. There was little representation of South Asians in the media, news, or even literature while I was growing up in the UK. However, I believe that this programme would allow Asian women to feel not only included, but also respected for their rich cultural heritage, customs, and traditions. As for my academic background I recently graduated from the University of Warwick with a BA in English Literature and am currently doing masters at UCL.
